Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Confirmed for LG G2

LG confirms the long-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its two smartphones, LG G2 and LG G2 Mini

LG G2 mini was unveiled last year in February with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right out of the box.

The smartphone made it to market in April, so a it makes sense for LG to offer a major OS upgrade for the G2 mini since the smartphone is only one year old.

Also, the G2 mini is a mid-range device that has all the required specs necessary for Android 5.0 Lollipop to run smoothly. But that's the case with the LG G2 as well and the smartphone won't be getting the update in Canada.

For the time being, Android 5.0 Lollipop for LG G2 mini has only been confirmed in Greece, so there might be places where the update will not be available for some unknown reasons.

In the same piece of news, LG Hellas also announced the LG G2 will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in Greece as well.

Both smartphones should get the update this month (June), but the information is only aimed at customers in Greece.

LG G2 Mini

Although we expect LG to kick off a global rollout of Android 5.0 Lollipop for G2 mini this month, there's no telling which countries will get it first.

The G2 mini was a decent mid-range smartphone for its time. The smartphone packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Quaclomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

With only 8GB of internal memory, users will surely need to take advantage of the microSD card slot which allows them to further expand storage up to 32GB,

LG G2 mini sports a decent 4.7-inch IPC LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.
